Seasonal Rearing Performance of Multivoltine Pure Mysore Silkworm in Southern dry Zone of Karnataka, India

The differences in the seasons and environmental components considerably affect quality of multivoltine silk worm seed crop such as cocoon weight, shell ratio. Frequent fluctuations conditions day to season point up importance management temperature relative humidity for sustainable production basic farms. Hence know role seasonal on growth development Multivoltine silkworm, present study conducted at P2 Basic Seed Farm Nagenahalli, Central Silk Board, Karnataka assess performance silkworm using various parameters. In all data were recoreded subjected correlation results revealed significantly higher hatching per cent yield (number weight)/ 100 dfls (Kg),single weight(gm) single cell weight (gm) 95.67, 43414.45 ( by number) 57.70 kg (by weight), 1.233 0.180, respectively) during winter season, whereas 10 matured larvae (28.01g) (0.180) recorded rainy season. Further, lower fecundity (480), hatching% (94.98), larval duration (28 days), (25.80g), yield/100dfl (43.29 kg), (1.146g), (0.169g), pupation (95.22%) leaf ratio (21.95) summer.among seasons. all, was more ideal rearing southern dry zone area with superior egg characters due fluctuations.
